Do I Need Optional Coverage for Trekking?

Most trekking is covered by a standard TuGo policy with no add-ons needed. Here's how to confirm whether your trip qualifies.

For most trekking trips, no additional coverage is required beyond your base TuGo policy. As long as your activity doesn't require an Adventure Sports Optional Coverage add-on, it falls within standard policy protection.

Add-ons are typically only needed if your trekking trip also includes:

  • Mountaineering or glacier travel — needs the Mountaineering add-on
  • Rock climbing or bouldering — needs the Rock Climbing add-on
  • Backcountry skiing or ice climbing — needs the corresponding add-on
