Student Memberships

Students at participating postsecondary schools can get a free Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) membership through their student outdoor club. The membership includes free affiliation with your local ACC Section.

Who is eligible?

To qualify for a free Student Membership, you must:

  • Be enrolled at a postsecondary school, and
  • Be a member of a student outdoor club that participates in the Student Outdoor Clubs Partnership Program.

About the Student Outdoor Clubs Partnership Program

The program connects ACC Sections with student-run outdoor clubs at nearby postsecondary schools, giving students a free and direct way to join the ACC. Clubs choose whether to participate, and the program runs on an annual cycle.

How does it work?

  1. The club partners with its local Section. The student outdoor club contacts its local ACC Section to join the program.
  2. The club shares its member list. The club sends a list of participating students to the ACC.
  3. Students receive their membership. The ACC gives each student on the list a free Student Membership with free affiliation to the local Section. Memberships are valid from the start of the school year until August 31.
  4. Students get involved. The local Section invites new student members to join its community and take part in member-led activities.

Is your club not participating yet?

If your student outdoor club isn’t part of the program yet, contact your local ACC Section to let them know you’re interested. You can find contact details on the ACC Regional Sections page.
