Does My Park Pass Cover Air Evacuation?

A national park pass covers emergency air evacuation within national park boundaries — but not in provincial parks or outside park boundaries. You'll still want separate medical insurance.

A valid Canadian national park pass typically includes coverage for emergency air evacuation when you're inside national park boundaries. This is helpful for visitors exploring remote areas of national parks.

What the park pass does not cover

  • Provincial parks
  • Areas outside national park boundaries (for example, public lands and crown land)
  • Ground ambulance transport, hospital care, and other medical services after evacuation

For full protection on backcountry trips, get comprehensive emergency medical insurance — like a TuGo policy with the right activity add-ons — in addition to your park pass.
