Section Memberships
ACC sections are local chapters that organize trips, courses, and social events in your region. Adding a section requires an active national membership.
The ACC has more than 26 regional sections across Canada — from the Yukon to Newfoundland and Labrador. Sections are run by experienced amateur leaders and are how most members meet other climbers, skiers, and mountaineers in their area.
What a section membership gives you
- Access to section-organized trips, climbs, ski tours, and hikes — usually free or run on a cost-recovery basis
- Section training courses and workshops
- Social events, mountain leadership development, and volunteer opportunities
- Section-only newsletters and communications
Important: section membership requires national membership
You cannot have an ACC section membership without an active ACC national membership. Section memberships expire on the same date as your national membership, regardless of when you added the section.
How to add a section
- Sign in to the member portal at app.alpineclubofcanada.ca
- Click the menu icon in the upper left corner
- Click the Profile tab
- Scroll down to the Membership Information section
- Click Add Section, choose the section(s) you'd like to join, and complete checkout
You can add more than one section if you participate in multiple regions.
If you can't sign in to your section's website
If you haven't yet signed the ACC Release of Liability (waiver), you won't be able to sign in to your section member portal. You'll be prompted to sign the waiver the first time you log in. See The ACC Waiver Requirement.
